Take an early morning train from Pisa to Florence, where you meet your tour escort and climb into a comfortable vehicle for your excursion.

Head first for the walled town of San Gimignano, recognizable for its distinctive skyline of Medieval towers. Explore the town at your own pace, strolling through picturesque piazzas or visiting historic churches or even the walls around the city.

Continue to charming Siena, for free time to explore the historic center. Admire the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo and the multi-colored cathedral.

Next, travel to the Chianti wine region, famous for production of Chianti Classico. Stop at a winery for a tour of the vineyards and wine cellars before sampling some of the wine made there. Also at the winery, enjoy a typical Tuscan lunch of cheeses, cured meats, pasta, and some pastries.

The final stop of the day is a visit to the medieval fortress at Monteriggioni. Afterward, return to Florence and, from there, catch a shuttle back to Pisa.

We were staying outside of Pisa and join this tour early in the morning. We went to Lucca to pick up additional tour members, and then joined a larger group on a coach in Florence. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, but found that the time was too long for us coming from the Pisa area. We returned to Pisa after 9PM and left Pisa at 6:40 AM. It would have been more enjoyable leaving directly from Pisa rather than going to the jump off point in Florence.

There were about 70 people on this tour. FAR TOO MANY PEOPLE, EVERYTHING AND EVERYWHERE WAS CROWDED AND UNMANAGEABLE. Too much geography covered...Too many hours driving in a bus and little time at each destination. Not possible to take photos of anything except upon arrival to each destination. I would not recommend this tour to anyone.

Local tour guide at sienna was brilliant. The guide from Florence where we took the tour could be more proactive to arrange our ride back to Pisa. We waited 15 minutes or so for the driver.

We enjoyed the sites we visited, and the tour guide. However, the time table given is wrong. This is not an 11-hour trip from Pisa for us it was a 15 hour trip.
