Guides were excellent, had information about a lot of things that were not necessarily readily available in the park service handouts. They were on time at every pickup point.
Great tour and a must-do if you want to have the full Canyon experience! Please read:

The tour was excellent and we learned so much on our drive to the Grand Canyon. Bea was our driver/guide and she knew so much about the area from the ecology to historical facts. It was all presented well and it was just enough to learn lots but also remember to tell friends about after! We saw Sedona and the red rocks from afar. The Cameron Trading Post was an excellent stop for lunch and to peruse the trading post. I made several purchases. At lunch I would highly recommend the prickly pear cactus milkshake. The first lookout/photo stop that was at the canyon was incredible. After a few scenic stops we arrived at Grand Canyon Village. There the passengers on the 1 day tour are able to explore for about an hour or so and our guide took us to check in at our hotel. The hotel was confirmed to us when we asked the company over the phone the day prior. We stayed at the Maswick, but I am not sure if it is the same hotel each tour. After that we were on our own to explore so we hiked along the rim to see the sunset. Note that if you are there in the winter, dress warmly and be prepared to walk home from the sunset in the dark/twilight. The next day we had free to explore the Village and hike and take photos. My friend and I agreed that it is too spectacular of a place to only see in a few hours. This was the benefit of the 2-day trip.Note that the trails into the canyon (not rim trails) were icy and required crampons for safe hiking (people were slipping in sneakers or boots). Bill was our driver on the way back. We were picked up around 2:30. He was accommodating and very friendly but his driving and attention to the road was a bit concerning at times. Overall it was a smooth trip home though. Bill did have good knowledge of the area too and shared some over the drive. We were exhausted and mostly slept on the way home. The trip back is a shorter route and also not meant to be a tour, mostly just a drive home. I would strongly recommend taking this 2 day tour to the Canyon if it is your first time travelling in the Phoenix area. It definitely added to my desire to take another trip to Arizona and return to the Canyon, with camping and hiking planned for sure!
Fascinating Tour & Well Structured

This Grand Canyon tour was scheduled through Viator as a broker for a regional tour company. The tour operator handled the bookings for the overnight tour well; we had no problems or glitches with the process. We sent an email through Viator to the tour company with my direct email contact information. That proved helpful during the tour as we needed to confirm details during the tour as we changed drivers.

Very nicely done! Very organized and each of the drivers were very personable and knowledgeable. They explained everything and were in constant communication so we knew what was happening when needed. Glad we took the two day tour so we had time to relax and look around on our own. Other people did the tour in one day and I'm sure it was exhausting.
2 day Grand Canyon Tour from Phoenix
, Sep 2018
After a family reunion in Phoenix we wanted to visit the Grand Canyon. We were told that Viator was the very best and sure enough they are. We stayed in a home, not in a hotel, but that didn't matter. The local office in Phoenix kept close track of us, answering our phone calls, and even calling us to make sure we could meet up at a hotel close to the home. We wanted to take a helicopter tour and were given all the information needed for us to plan it ourselves. They tried every step of the way to make the tour a first class experience without us paying too much money. The tour guide, Yancy was fantastic. The van fit a small group (which I like!) and was a 2018 model. The drivers going there and returning drove so well. They were quite knowledgeable about geology, history, desert fauna, rivers, climates, . . .. and kept us all interested.

Our tour to the Grand Canyon with Wayne Parker was incredible! He is the best tour guide we've ever had! He is a knowledgeable, energetic, and experienced guide. He navigated some narrow, twisty, climbing roads with skill while providing interesting commentary and caring for the groups needs and comforts. He is very familiar with the area and knows great spots to eat, to view the sights and to get great photos. The tour included a scenic drive from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon with an overnight stay. Since it was our first visit to the Grand Canyon, we weren't quite prepared for how dark and cold it gets at night. If you'll be walking around after sunset, bring a flashlight and something warm to put on. We had a different driver for our ride back to Phoenix. This time we took the freeway no scenic route and it was just a ride without the commentary. The freeways in this area can be a bit nerve-wracking at times, with people following too close for comfort at 75-80 mph. But, we got there without incident.

We would have liked a little more time in Sedona. We had about 40 minutes to walk around, which included a rest room break. And we arrived and left early in the morning, before the shops were open not that we would have had time to shop. We realize the main point of the trip was the Grand Canyon, and that was great, which is why we rated it highly. However, since there is a stop in Sedona, it would have been nice to actually feel we had seen a bit of Sedona. There is a great variation in the tour guides, and it is the luck of the draw. The driver/guide we had from Phoenix to Sedona was great--lots of info, very personable. The driver/guide we had to the Canyon was a bit of a character, who told us lots of stories about himself and his life, name-dropping lots of people, but not quite giving us the info we were expecting to get about the area. The driver we had all the way back gave too much info, identifying every restaurant as we passed it on the road! The accommodations at the Grand Canyon were comfortable Maswik Lodge. We were lucky to have great, clear weather. They picked us up for the trip back earlier than we were originally told. So you may have slightly less time on that second day than you had planned.

The small mini van was old and very uncomfortable for the trip from Phoenix to Sedona where a newer van was used to the Grand Canyon. The driver/guide was informed and interesting. Upon arrival my friends were informed to their embarrassment, that their generous tip was not sufficient! I was shocked, it bothered me the rest of the trip. The return trip was late one hour and when we entered the only seats available was the back row and very hard for four people in their mid seventies and eighties! However, the Grand Canyon was spectacular.

This tour was great, we could see a lot and it was well organized. staying over night it is a very good idea, it allows experience canyon on your own, see the sunset, sunrise, take a long walk. The only thing what we were not happy about was the ride back home, the driver was crazy and people got really scared inside the bus.

The overnight tour of the Grand Canyon out of Phoenix was fantastic. Including transportation to the Grand Canyon with a stop in Sedona, one night's lodging at the Maswik Lodge, a tour of awesome views along the canyon rim, and transportation back, it was also a great value. The tour ran smoothly. Our guides, Manny, JR, and Ray, all provided personalized, warm, friendly, and informative guiding. I found them all to be caring and concerned as well as entertaining. Lodging at Maswik was simple but clean and adequate, and the lodge provided a good cafe with many choices, as well as help in setting up other activities. Everything worked together to provide a troublefree and seamless experience, and I felt that I had time to really see and absorb the wondrous Canyon. I'm so glad that I had my first experience of this awesome natural wonder with this tour, run by Ma and Pa Tours. Excellent experience.
