This activity will end right where it started.
Meet your guide at a centrally located point to begin your tour.

Wander through this verdant residential area of New Orleans to admire the many beautiful 19th-century antebellum mansions—it's the largest collection of this style of buildings in the world. At one time, this part of the city was taken up by a few plantations. These were later broken up into the separate residential plots you see today.

The streets are lined with Live Oaks, sometimes branching across roads to create lush tunnels between fine examples of quintessentially New Orleanian architectural styles. Look for scrolled cast-iron fences and grand white columns.

Before concluding the tour, visit one of the city's famous above-ground cemeteries, Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, which dates from the 19th century.

Very informative tour. We learned interesting, historical facts about the Garden District & how it came to be. Saw a few celebrity homes & learned of the NOLA burial process. The area is beautiful with big amazing houses.

Tour with Bubby. Five Stars!

Our guide, Bubby, knew the district like the back of his hand. It happened to be just me, my best friend, and him on tour, on a blazing hot day. I was able to sit and rest as needed, and Bubby continued teaching on his easy, affable way. A very memorable tour!

The guide was knowledgeable and provided interesting facts about the different architectural styles. However there were a number of quiet times which I thought could have been filled with more facts and history.

Started the tour at Gracious Bakery, excellent breakfast stop. We only had another pair in our tour so it was nice and intimate. Tour guide was casual and held a good pace for us (somewhat slow but we are not the fastest walkera so it was perfect) had a nice air-conditioned bathroom and water break.

Our Tour guide was Bubby and he was great, very informative about the Garden District and overall New Orleans. The tour would not have been as good without him.

Great Experience!

We lucked out and had a tour with just the two of us. That certainly afforded us more flexibility in where we went and how long we were able to explore the different homes and the neighborhood. Our Guide was fantastic - humorous, knowledgeable, and fun! We loved it. Also, BONUS, we started our tour at the Gracious Bakery which has amazing pastries and bagel sandwiches.

I was so disappointed with this tour. We have used Viator all over, even in Hi and never had bad experience. Your was supposed to be 2 hrs and was less than 1.5 hrs. We started late and had 15 min break in middle which was totally unnecessary. Guide walked so slow and barely talked. I think he was sick. It was not good. Really think other 2 people and us should get a refund. I usually do not complain but this was bad. He did not talk. Questions were asked and he would answer. The garden district is beautiful. I feel bad we did not have good tour.

Our tour guide was a no show

Our tour guide was a no show. After 25 minutes on the phone with someone from the company, who tried to imply that we showed up late (we were 15 minutes early), we were told that the guide simply forgot about the tour. We were refunded in the end but the whole experience was a bust.

Our guide Andrew was excellent! He was knowledgeable, entertaining and made sure everyone was able to hear and ask questions. I appreciated that he shared his background and how he ended up being our guide. The walk was leisurely and at a good pace. There were other guides in the area, Andrew made sure we were in a different area so as not to compete with the other guides presentations. He was able to modify and adjust accordingly. I would like to mention that Andrew is tall, handsome and a good pinball player. :)
