Peak was fantastic! This was a wonderful experience. Communication prior to the tour was timely and informative. There were only a few of us so it felt more like a private tour than a group. Once we reached the meeting point it began to rain so Peak talked to us under a canopy while we waited for the rain to stop. Even though we weren't even walking it was fascinating. Once we got going it was just one fascinating fact after another. Best of all, she focused on women's contributions to New Orleans history. She had a fantstic book with her that she used to show us pictures when it fit into the context of what we were seeing, and the stories from a woman's perspective were totally unexpected and refreshing. There are many French Quarter walking tours but I don't think any focus on the contribution of women throughout history, and this was a nice surprise. We also saw some very large groups along the way so I felt quite lucky and privileged to have such a personal tour. Peak made the tour educational and entertaining with her intimate knowledge of the city's history that was obviously something she was passionate about, and it showed. Just fantastic.

Libby, our tour guide, was excellent. She was conversational and energetic and kept us all engaged. It was hot (as expected in the summer in New Orleans) but she kept us under the shade as much as she could which helped with the heat.
