Genoa Walking Tour: Discover Hidden Treasures and Street Food

Karl is amazing. Incredible energy, knowledge and passion for all things Genova. My son is studying in Genova for the summer and we wanted to take a tour to get to know the city some. Karl went way out of his way to get my son comfortable with the city. Shared its amazing history, places to eat, and provided fantastic guidance along the way. I would recommend this tour to everyone. We ate and sampled local cuisine. Met great people. Learned so much. Truly a great day.

What an amazing tour! We were met promptly at 10 by our wonderful guide, Karl ! There were just four of us and Karl immediately gave us the information about what the day would encompass. We spent the day by walking through the incredible streets of Genoa and learning about the History of the Genoese people, the finances, the conflicts, the wars, etc.. all while walking and being shown the building and sites involved.. Karl was so personable, polite, caring, and so completely in love with this city that it showed with every turn. He took us beyond the doors and into courtyards and buildings that most people never get to see! He would run into a small café and come out with the most delicious Genoese food for us to taste. He brought us to a little café where we had a glass of wine and got to meet the locals. He bought us the most amazing lunch where we sat and talked like old friends. Karl is totally in love with his city and he thoroughly was excited to show us everything. We were even taken to an overlook of the city. Karl made sure that we got back to the Port at the end of the tour. This was the most amazing tour in every aspect and remembering the exuberance and personality of Karl is a joy! Thanks to him we have very fond memories of a beautiful city. Do not hesitate to book this tour!

This was an excellent tour - our guide Karl was extremely knowledgeable about Genoa's history and took us to sights that the average tourist would not see except on this tour. He was an excellent guide and very personable. My husband and I highly recommend doing this tour.

This was an incredible way to cap off a two week trip through Spain and Italy. "Small group tour" turned out to be my wife and i, escorted on a personal walking tour of Genova by Karl. Karl's deep love and reverence for the city infused the whole day. I never would have found these things on my own.

This is an incredible tour. Karl is the best, so enthusiastic about his adopted city, and the adventure he showed me was well worth the trip. This guy is such a great advocate for Genova - he should be the Mayor. In fact, as we were walking the streets we bumped into the Mayor of Genova, Marco Doria, which was a great treat. Be prepared to walk a lot. You will surely walk 10-12 miles but it's worth every step.

Excellent 'getting to know Genoa' walking trip, with a knowledgeable and friendly guide and the added bonus of great local food and drink tasting on the route. What's not to like?

The tour was amazing! Our guide, Karl, was so knowledgeable and energetic! We saw so much, learned so much, and ate our full of local delicacies. Karl was an incredible guide. We came away with a love for Genoa.

An imaginative tour which gives a good feel for the political and artistic history of the city.It is a long tour and does require stamina. I suggest people skip breakfast as there's a lot of eating! We were not able to visit some of the planned places as the palaces,galleries, forts etc are shut on Mondays. But our guide was so familiar with the city that he was able to adjust the places visited. Including the train ride to Nervi was brilliant but I suggest the visit to the Park takes place first before the drink on the beach... and references to watching the sun set are not relevant... unless its done in January! Watching the sun go down on the small beach at Nervi was magical! An excellent tour and highly recommended.
