Meet your guide at Florence’s Piazza della Repubblica. With your skip-the-line ticket in hand, make your way past the general entrance lines outside Florence Duomo, and head inside the famous place of worship.

Also known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Duomo is one of the world’s largest churches. Hear fun facts about its history as you admire Paolo Uccello’s clock and frescoes by Giorgio Vasari.

Next, you’ll head up the staircase, making your way through corridors that have been off-limits to the public for centuries. When you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with views over the city from the terraces—more than 100 feet (32 meters) above ground level. Hear how Brunelleschi created the dome without the use of scaffolding, a feat that defied the traditional rules of architecture.

If you want to climb even higher, then head up to the top of Brunelleschi’s Dome. Your skip-the-line ticket gives you access to the vantage point at the highest level of the church.

Your tour finishes inside the church, but you can stay inside for longer if you like. Your ticket also grants access to the Great Museum of the Cathedral, Florence Baptistery, the Great Museum of the Duomo, and Giotto’s Bell Tower. Attractions must be visited within 48 hours of your tour.

Well worth the climb

What a climb! Not for the weak for sure and tough on the 78 year old. However, all the huffing and puffing up the stairs( some were like ladders) the view was worth every bit of energy it took to get there!

This is one of my favorite tours on my trip. Eleonora was a fantastic tour guide, she described the church in detail, gave us great tips on our way there, made us feel comfortable going up to the terrace, and also taking us up to the dome. The views were breathtaking, unavailable to most people, an absolute delight to visit. I strongly recommend making time for this special opportunity!

Worth every penny

You should be in shape for this tour. Some in out group were not and they lagged behind making us wait. Make sure you are dressed appropriately they will make you find proper dress or not go. Our tour guide was not the most knowledgeable person or maybe just not great at talking to people, however the experience made up for it. Going out on the terrace gave you some great views of the doumo itself and got you excited to get to the top. The interior of the dome was amazing that you are that close to the dome. It was unbelievable. The steps up are full of history and it is crazy that you walk between the painting and the roof. When you finally get to the top the view is breathtaking. The skylines and views go on forever. This was well worth every penny I spent on the tour.

The tour was terrific. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. She explained the art, architecture and history with lots of detail while using funny anecdotes and humour. Skipping the long line and getting access to the outside walkway and catwalks is worth the money. Highly recommend!

Duomo - with the clouds

This was hands down, our best tour after 3 weeks in Italy. Our guide, Gidia (or Jade) was terrific. She knew so much about the Duomo, there was not a question she could not answer. The time she took to explain the 5 levels of the dome, was just perfect. It's was clear that she has an appreciation for history and a passion for sharing her home town of Florence.

Federica, our guide was extremely knowledgeable about Florence and it was readily apparent how much she loved her city. Of course, what is not to love about Florence. However, what made the tour so wonderful was her friendly style and the way she answered questions. She is a real winner.

Easy Access & Great Tour Guide

We took this after learning how busy it was at il Duomo during the day and knowing we wanted the full experience. Martina was wonderful, she made sure everyone got to the top and down safely and with plenty of awesome pictures, knew her history about Florence, and was just a cool person in general. Later that night a bunch of us were sitting around drinking wine when she walked her evening group past, laughed and waved when we all waved at her, it's a small thing that she remembered us after all the people she probably meets throughout the day. It's a climb but when you get to the top and see all the beauty of Florence it's worth it, and this tour makes sure you see all of it.
