Tuesday through Sunday, 8:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Via Ricasoli 58, Florence, Tuscany, 50125

The Basics

To avoid spending hours in line at the Accademia Gallery, snag skip-the-line tickets in advance or opt for a private guided tour. David is unsurprisingly popular and set in one of the most crowded parts of the gallery—for the best photo ops, book a coveted, exclusive, early-access tour. To maximize your time in Florence, choose a half- or full-day tour that visits both the Accademia Gallery and the Uffizi Gallery or also includes a city sightseeing tour.

Walking tour of dell’Accademia and the Uffizi
Our guide was friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. Also, as a self-appointed gelato expert, she pointed out the best gelato stops along the route. A big plus!

Skip the Line: Florence Accademia Gallery Tickets
Be very early (or risk late) or be prepared to queue, especially at the moment, with museums wanting to see Covid certificates, so it makes skipping the line schemes very desirable for the top sites, the Academy, the Uffizi and, by the look of it, the Duomo. I went in right on time for both of those I did.

I was a little strange that the person delivering our tickets rolled up a few minutes late and was on a bicycle. The tickets were probably not necessary as there was no line. Beautiful meuseum

Accademia Gallery and David, Small group semi private tour (max 10 -11 peoples )
The Accademia/David small group tour is a must to skip the line and enjoy the art to the fullest. Cosetta was an excellent tour guide and was very knowledgable. The art becomes alive with the stories and insights she provided. It was great to get a full artist interpretation and history of the David. Highly recommend this tour.

Skip the Line: Florence's Accademia Gallery Priority Entrance Ticket
Once we found the representative or I should say he found us it was a great experience. The representative needs to wear or carry a sign with the company name. We went right to the head of the line.

Daniel & Daniel we’re great hosts/guides. The view at the first winery / BnB alone is worth the price of admission. (Bluff overlooking winery & San Gimingano) Gelato was on point at San Gimignano. (Saffron, orange cream & pine nuts beat in the world) Tasting at the final winery is a great spread (6-9 types of wine, plus shipping included in price).

What Not to Miss at the Accademia Gallery

The scale of Michelangelo’s David (carved from a single block of Carrara marble) is enough to impress, but its fine details and lifelike features make it a true masterpiece. Travelers spend most of their time admiring David, but those interested in Michelangelo’s life and other works should also see his unfinished San Matteo or Prigioni that adorn the main hallway. The plaster model of Giambologna’s Rape of the Sabine Women also shouldn’t be missed.
